Turning Point School

A proprietary visual language anchored in positive psychology.

A brand platform backed by science.

Nothing is stronger than a platform backed by science. Though a remarkable experience, Turning Point School had yet to be defined in a proprietary way. We partnered with the Culver City school to help them proclaim and own a distinct place in a cluttered space. Our conversations around positive psychology brought out the school’s new themeline: A Positive Equation for Achievement. The new brand architecture comprises 32 foundational elements that drive each student’s experience from their very first day of preschool until their eighth grade graduation.

State of flow.

Inspired by scientific research and the field of positive psychology, we authored Turning Point School’s new themeline and designed a completely unique visual language to support it. Colorful circles and proprietary shapes magically capture the school’s state of flow—becoming a graphic evidence of the serotonin, endorphins, and dopamine flying around campus. The school’s new visual language can confidently talk about—and judiciously points at—how students feel significant, alleviates anxiety, and motivates them to take action towards their goals, desires, and needs.

“Searching for a creative firm to lead my school through a complete rebranding project was an incredibly high-stakes venture, but I knew during my first phone call with DISTINC_ that they were the team who could get us there. They had an incredible ability to almost intuitively understand my school's goals, and they worked strategically, creatively, and inclusively to capture what is best about our organization, crafting visuals and language that far exceeded even our most hopeful expectations. The rebranding project they spearheaded for us was completely genuine to who we are as a school but at the same time positions us in a way that is completely different and unique from our competitors. That initial project was just the start of our partnership; we now consider DISTINC_ to be an integral part of our team and have engaged in many other projects with them, including refreshing our mission statement. I cannot wait to see what we come up with next!”
